Not surprisingly, the Professional Disc Golfers Association website (www.pdga.com) has this answer along with just about every other one would ever need.

Specifically to your question, here is the answer with the link behind it:

Rule II-B: "The basket shall have a circular rim of no greater than 67 cm in diameter as measured on the outside edge of the rim, with a minimal basket depth of 15 cm." ... (page 5)

Trace the wires back from the plug to see if they go into a fitting on the engine block. If they do, you have a "block heater " that you can connect with a extension cord, to the house system, to warm the engine before starting it.

I'm going to assume, that you live in the UK ?

If that is the case, don't bother with plugging in the block heater . unless the overnight temperature is going to be minus 10 C or colder. It is a nice thing to have, but in most British winters, it is not needed.

I live in Canada, where block heaters really ARE needed, and in the northern parts of this country, there are electric outlets on the main streets, attached to the parking meters, so you can plug in your block heater, while you go shopping.

The block heater warms the engine and the engine oil, to reduce " dry start wear " in really cold conditions, such as minus 20 C and colder. As a standard in Canada, we have our engine coolant mixed with anti freeze to stay liquid down to minus 40 C. I bet that your car's cooling system is not nearly as well protected, is it ?

Have a certain hole set the you can only use a certain club till you get to the green. I played in one recently and it was a 7 iron on a par 5.

Start on the middle tees and if a team birdies they move back, and a bogey they move forward.

Have a mulligan that you can buy and use once where you think you need it.

Closest to the pin on the second shot wouldn't be bad on an average length par 4.

I'm sure theres more things out there you could do too.

Charge $5 per person and move the tees up on the longest Par 5 on the course. They can either hit from the normal tees or move up to the new place. Just make it so they won't have much more than 100 yards to the green if they choose to move up.

Closest to center of fairway.
Birdie/eagle bonuses on certain holes (for the team, of course).
Have fun!

Make a putting contest, before the match, all contestants putt to a hole. If they make it they qualify to putt after the round for some prize, with all the others who made the putt.

Also, have the closest to the hole winner putt for some kind of prize. Or a combination of closest to the hole/ longest drive/ straightest drive make some ridiculously long putt for a grand prize per say.

You're completely off base.

Tim Finchem is tasked with growing the game economically for the PGA Tour...it's why he has a job.

When it became clear as day that Woods was a ratings-driver for the Tour, Finchem used that leverage in renegotiating contracts with the tv networks.

People like Woods for a myriad of reasons, and the PGA Tour doesn't exactly over-expose Woods because they don't have to.

They don't know how to do that. Their only business model is "ride the cash cow till he dies. Then resuscitate him, and keep on riding". They found out how bad they were when TW was injured for the last half of '08, and they STILL didn't learn anything. It's like some kind of weird denial thing.

It doesn't help that fair-weather fans (not true golf fans, but Tiger-only fans) and most of the media crucify people that either have a negative opinion of Tiger, or aspire to be #1. Once the backlash subsides, they're basically saying "Screw it, I'll keep to myself" and that hurts everyone... but it's understandable. That's why it seems that there are so many robots on Tour... why say something, when either not enough people are going to care, or you might face some serious heat?

Tiger Woods made golf cool and he has brought in millions for the PGA Tour. He brought the big time TV contracts pretty much by himself by his success and popularity. This made the Tournament purses huge and made guys that are finishing 50th on the PGA Tour millionaires and the top players multimillionaires. A lot of those guys are flying around in their own jets and they have their abilities to thank for that along with Tiger Woods. If somebody was winning as much as him then there would be bigger personalities right now. The PGA Tour didn't invest in Tiger, they have been raking in the money since he got there.

Simple, Tiger Woods played great golf and was exciting to watch. Plus he changed golf. Before all the people who played pro were overweight. Tiger was one of the first to workout and be fit, and thats why Tiger is a staple in the game of golf. Have you seen how many tourny winning putts he's had.

If you approach them with respect and ask them their policy about private carts they will probably tell you. Like someone else said the other players could be grandfathered into being allowed to bring theirs. I would think long and hard about the advice to try and sneak it on the course.

ummm, I would get him a gift certificate to a place that he can go in, and pick the items out himself, but since money is no issue.....the real gift would be,,,the fact that you and him get to spend the day together. take him to eat,,,,red lobster....? maybe somewhere more private..low lights...nice food. Don't know where you live...how about planning alittle get away...give him the certificate then...plan your eats,,low lighting, and
do alittle dancing...maybe ....stop in somewhere and have some wine.
I went to this place once, and they set it all up,,the room the balloons the cake,,,,flowers..champaine glasses candles..hot tub, fireplace picnic brought in...look under cabins......sounds good huh?
The best part is,,,you thought of it......sounds like you love him alot...so he's worth it!!!

One time I had a limo,,,come to my mans work, and had champaigne in it,,,,he drove around for alittle while reading his big b day card,(oh did i mention I hired a pink gorilla in a tutu,,,this is a long story,,but i got it all on tape...it was perfect. They then picked me up, and we rode for awhile, and then we went to his party I had planned....yup the gorilla went with and got the first dance with him....he was so surprised...his friends lined up outside the workplace, and he had to walk through them, and when he saw the gorilla,,he made the comment...some poor sucker is really getting a whammy, and then the gorrilla came and jumped in his arms? lol": did i mention I celebrated his b'day as usual, this was after to catch him off guard. so worth it!!!!!
Good luck whatever ya do,,quiet and romantic, or fisty and playful,,just have fun!!!! Make sure you tell him what you told us He deserves it. :0)

I would just go in and pay the green fee without a cart, then just put the clubs on your cart and start playing; the most they can do at first is ask you to leave. If they do tell them you'll give them a couple hundred bucks a year to use it. If they say no and tell you to leave, tell them you want your money back. . . .

They want your cart rental $$$$ so they make rules against using your own- simple as that. If you think they are making 'double standards' and allowing others to use their carts, ask them before confronting the owner/operator of the course.

The only time I have heard of people using their own carts is on PRIVATE golf courses (private 'clubs').

here it is..

Gingersnap Cookies Recipe

Ginger snaps are just about my favorite cookie in the world, next to oatmeal raisin. So imagine my delight in finding this recipe from a woman who got it while interviewing for at job at Chez Panisse. They are thin and crispy, and truly addictive. By the way, in place of parchment I've started to use silicone baking sheets for cookie making; nothing sticks to these mats and clean-up is a breeze.

8 oz unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 small eggs or 1 1/2 large eggs
1/3 cup molasses
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper

1 Cream butter until soft; add sugar, and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, and beat until fluffy. Add molasses and beat until well-mixed.

2 Sift the dry ingredients; add to the mixture, 1/3 at a time. Mix only until the dry ingredients become incorporated.

3 Line a 9" x 5" loaf pan with plastic wrap, so that some hangs over the outsides. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan. Pack it tightly, and try to make the top as level as possible. Cover the dough with the plastic overhangs. Freeze until very firm, preferably overnight.

4 Unwrap and remove dough from the pan. Slice brick into thin slices, no more than 1/8". Place on a parchment-lined sheetpan (space at least an inch apart) and bake at 350 degrees until the edges turn dark brown, about 12 minutes.

I tried out our convection setting on the oven with these cookies, baking them at 325°F for 10 minutes and they came out perfect. I didn't use up all the dough with this batch, but because it's a frozen block, it makes it easy to store and bake the rest later. posted by elise

Not many courses allow private carts. Some courses had to grandfather in members who had always had carts. This may be the situation with the other members you've seen? I would let you use your own cart on my course if you paid the full cart fee each time you played.

yes it is moe nornan was eccentic , his golf swing produced accuracy , like hogan . many nany pga pros are undecided which of the two were the greatest ball strikers ever . put to a vote , it very well as far as accuracy , the vote would go to norman. as a golfer , hogan due to better putting , short game . his video makes golf easier . very simple golf swing to copy . the most notable , the swing will work for both men and women . also all ages , and body types . it is easy to learn, and just plain works . it is worth the effort , especially for a casual golfer .

Neesa, don't buy your husband a putter. Although you can get a top notch make, putters are a very personal thing. Some just feel right. This gives you confidence and the balls just magically start rolling in. You don't want to spend a fortune on a putter he just doesn't like.

A top bag will be easy to sort out:

1. Have a look at what type of clubs he uses. Most golfers stick to one manufacturer

2. If unsure, ask one of his golf buddies.

3. Find out whether he walks and carries, walks with a trolley or rides a cart.

4.Buy the best bag by the appropriate manufacturer that you can afford. With golf bags it does tend to be a case of the more you spend the better you get.

Just do it anyway. It's probably what the other people do. Or they just say no as a disclaimer but never really enforce it. It's golf for Pete's sake. Who cares? If they tell you no then what are they going to do? Put you in jail?

I would have looked into this before purchasing the cart. Perhaps there are some liabilities that they have to follow. If you feel others have private carts perhaps you should approach one of those guests and ask what steps they followed.

You need a Pro Shop with proper equipment for telling swing speed, ball speed and spin on the ball. The proper equipment will tell you all of this. Check out to find a location.

well is easy. just go to the local golf mega store. Go to the Edwin watts golf store or golfsmith. you can even go to the dicks at ur mall the should have the pro launch software there.
its just a three cameras around you that record you and tell you how solid and how fast you hit the ball. just tell them that you what to demo a few of the new drivers and compare them to ur regular driver. they'll let you swing any driver you want.

If he usually walks, then get the Titleist X80 Carry Bag or the Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 or Sun Mountain Swift. I'm a caddie and these bags are really light and reliable too. As for a putter, don't pick one out for him. Offer to pay for one that he likes. The putter can save strokes on the course and is one of the most important clubs in the bag. He has to feel comfortable and confident standing over it. Just buying one that people here recommend may end up hurting him in the long run. If all else fails, you could buy him a Bushnell Range Finder. It measures the distance from any point to wherever you aim it at. It's not really necessary, but it can save time from his pacing the distance off. I hope this helps.

It’s not really necessary, but it can save time from his pacing the distance off. I hope this helps.

Lol, ah i remember when i began golfing. The golf swing is such a foreign swing it takes a lot of practice to get right.
I used to get ecstatic when I made solid contact and didn't make a huge divot and still love the satisfaction of making solid contact and seeing my ball fly nice and straight.
Don't worry about score, just keep the ball in play and you'll enjoy the game.

For the speed of the golf swing you would probably need a gun for that, but for the ball you could do total distance divided by total time

As a beginner you should not focus on the score. I recommend going to driving range before you start playing on the course. This should improve your swing and will prepare you for the course. Once you do start playing focus on improving your swing before looking at the score, otherwise it will really frustrate you. You can also try looking at some beginner swing guides at so you can learn how to properly swing the club without picking up any 'bad habits'. Remember practice makes perfect and you should be getting a respectable score in no time.

Good Luck

You don't have to be in management to have free time. Once you build a book of business you need to only properly service it. Hire a customer service rep and you're good to go. It takes time though.

I'm a beginner and it wasn't something I worried about but something I wanted to know. It is almost like naming a strange bird after looking it up in a field guide, after seeing this bird outside somewhere. You're taking the abstract and placing it into intelligible thought. I felt better when I knew my score. I knew where things stood and where I needed to go. It is easy to say "if you are a beginner don't worry about." well that doesn't answer the question does it? No. I can even assume you have been a beginner for awhile and want to begin counting strokes. You may feel more like a golfer. My score last week was a 63. Now that was a full length course with 18 holes owned by PGA Jeff Sluman. I only played the front nine. I did par a hole. It was a par four. However, knowing your score will show you how many strokes you can lose by having a good short game on the green. My goal for the summer is to two putt everything. That 63 contained a lot of four and even a five putt. That would be HUGE to eliminated a stroke or two off of every hole. Hope this helps.

Get the Odyssey putter for $99 and for the golf bag, get the same brand name of his club sets. A push cart is also nice gift to go along with the bag.

Yeah lucky husband! Let me knw if he ever annoys you.
Get him something completely different that will both surprise and please him. Get him a golf GPS.
Check out the source box for a great website that gives recommendations based on budget. Every single GPS on that chart is good - it all depends on budget and how fancy you want to be.
The first chart is for the ones with colour screens.
Man he's gonna love you!!

I know that there is a place in Seattle that sell these golf balls and you can customize them. I think its called The Golf Place. You can get one and have it be his favorite color and his name on it or something. You can also get customized golf clubs. I hope this helps!

As you've just started, don't worry too much about the score, stressing about it will put tension in your swing and that will worsen your game.
If you must have a target score, aim for +2 on each hole (as an average, don't let one bad hole ruin the mood of a good round).

I've noticed many advisors in my area are strickly focus on sales and selling stuff and don't care about properly servicing their clients. They try to sell stuff to anyone that can fog a mirror just to get the trailer commissions. I call this the "sell and store" practice....they sell you a bunch of stuff and then store your file in a file cabinet and never call you again. Once the North America catches up to the rest of the world in regulation on how trailer commisions are linked to service, these folks will be going out of business.

If you're going that route ask your self "If I was a client would I want to deal with someone thatonly calls to sell me something or would I want to deal with someone that actually cares?" :D

Only other way to do it is to hire/outsource the work to people below you and become a 'business owner' and not a self employed advisor. As for how many employees? Hard to say, depends how nice the golf courses are that you like to golf at.
