Tip 1: Learn the short game first

Learning how to putt and hit shots around the greens is an important step in helping you to get better at this game faster. Take a few lessons initially if you have to in order to learn a specific putting technique. One of the keys with putting is to pick one main mechanical approach and then to stay with that through thick and thin making small changes along the way to fine tune your stroke. The problem with constantly changing putting styles is that your body is never given the chance to learn and get used to one technique so you will not be as good as you can be.

Physical strength and flexibility are key components to good golf so be sure to stretch appropriately before each workout and also be sure to implement some type of strength training program into your life so that you are building strong muscles which will make the game a lot easier.
