What do i have to do to get a golf scholarship to a pretty good school?

I am 16 years old and i shoot around an 85 to a 80. I am on my golf team and will be going into my junior year of high school. I get A’s and B’s in school and have a 3.5 GPA. What do i need to do to get onto a good college golf team?

if you want to get into a good D2 school its probably a little bit over par but if you are looking D1 you should almost be under par if not par consistently plus you should win districts and place well if not win states also the courses are a lot longer you should be playing from the tips where ever you go im sure the courses they play are around 6800 if not longer

Golf scholarships are limited except for the Golf Factories where a plus 2 handicap is the worse player on the team. That means that your best 10 of your last 20 scores have to average almost 3 under par. I would consult with the golf coach of your high school and explore the places where you might be accepted and work from there. These days with so many golfers around, you probably will have to be a low 70’s shooter to get consideration.

Grades are important. Winning junior tournaments during the summer, get your 9 hole and 18 hole scores near par, play tougher courses – especially the ones you will play during the season. Attend golf camps maybe.
