What is the process of starting a golf team in high school in California?

The high school I will be attending my freshman year at doesn’t have a golf team and I would like to try to start one. What are the prerequisites of starting one and what is the process to it all. Is it difficult to start a team in high school? Other high schools around the area have teams so finding schools to have meets with wouldn’t be a problem. Any questions? just feel free to ask.

You will need to find a coach/teacher willing to start the team up. If you know any teachers that like to golf (and who aren’t already coaching another sport) talk to him or her and see if they are willing to coach a golf team. Money might be an issue in starting a team, so you may have to find several other students interested in a golf team and, working with the teacher, do some fundraisers at school to make the necessary money to start the team. If your school has some sort of director of athletics he or she would be an excellent person to talk to.

If none of that works out, you can always do golf on your own. Contact local golf courses to see if they have any youth tournaments.
